We are a completely volunteer-based registered charity
Based in Brisbane, Queensland, Aussie Kidz Charity supports disabled and under-privileged children across Australia by funding equipment and services that their families would otherwise struggle to afford. Our goal is simple — to provide practical support that improves the independence, wellbeing and opportunities of the children we help.
Aussie Kidz Charity operates differently from many other organisations. We are proud to be completely volunteer-based, with our Directors and supporters generously contributing their time and resources. Our operating costs are minimal and largely covered by the Directors themselves, allowing us to maintain our commitment that 100% of funds raised go directly to supporting the kids.
Children are referred to Aussie Kidz Charity through trusted charitable organisations and support networks, including Choices, Passion, Life (formerly known as the Cerebral Palsy League Queensland), Montrose and the Xavier Children’s Support Network. These partnerships help ensure support is provided responsibly and reaches the families who need it most.
For many years, our fundraising efforts have been driven primarily through community events and the generous support of sponsors and partners who donate goods, services and resources. With the introduction of online donations, supporters from across Australia can now contribute to helping children live better, brighter lives.
Our History
Aussie Kidz Charity was founded in 2000 by David Dahl and Ross Tisch. Both men had previously served as Directors of another children’s charity and became increasingly concerned that growing overhead costs were diverting funds away from the children who needed help the most.
Determined to create a charity built on transparency and impact, they established Aussie Kidz Charity with a clear guiding principle — that funds raised should go directly to the children.
Since its founding, Aussie Kidz Charity has raised approximately $900,000 and delivered more than 150 grants to children across Australia. These grants have funded life-changing equipment and essential services for families facing financial challenges while caring for children with disabilities or experiencing disadvantage.
Our vision is to help disabled and under-privileged children live better lives by funding equipment and services their families cannot afford.

When I became involved with Aussie Kidz Charity, it was for one simple reason — impact.
In a landscape where many organisations face growing overheads, Aussie Kidz has remained true to its founding principle: that the funds we raise go directly to the children who need them most.
We are proud to operate as a completely volunteer-based charity. Our Board and supporters generously give their time and expertise so that every dollar raised can fund equipment and services that genuinely change a child’s life.
The children we support are living with disability or experiencing disadvantage, and for many families the cost of specialised equipment or therapy can be overwhelming. Through our grants, we help ease that burden and provide practical support that improves independence, confidence and quality of life.
Our donors, sponsors, event partners and volunteers share a belief that giving should be purposeful and transparent. Every act of generosity translates into meaningful outcomes for children across Australia.
